Cause & Effect Paragraph
Christ's
church should be a part of every believer's life for a multitude of
reasons. First, we are commanded in Scripture not to forsake the
gathering together of believers, so being uninvolved with the church
would invoke the displeasure and discipline of God. Second, we should
regularly attend church in order to hear the preaching and teaching
of the Word and in order to know the Scriptures more fully. Also,
church should be a part of our lives because of the fellowship and
time with other believers that we can enjoy there. Fourth, as we join
together and share our lives with other followers of Christ, we
should become more accountable to each other in our personal areas of
weakness. Lastly, Christians should subject themselves to the
authority of the church for the spiritual security and strength which
the leaders provide. Christ had reasons for creating the church and
those reasons have not lessened in two thousand years – if
anything, they've grown more critical – and so we ought to join
ourselves to the local embodiment of Christ.
